Tapestri, Inc. is dedicated to ending violence and oppression in refugee and immigrant communities, using culturally competent and appropriate methods. As advocates for refugee and immigrant families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation, we are committed to using education, community organizing, direct services and advocacy to effect change in the lives of these families. Our name, “Tapestri,” symbolizes the different threads of society coming together to form a safe cover to protect its many colored communities. We have been providing services for victims for over 15 years.

Our programs include:

Legal Advocacy Program:
Providing legal advocacy, assistance and referrals for victims of domestic violence. Technical Assistance Program: Providing technical assistance on refugee and immigrant issues related to domestic violence and human trafficking for all social service providers. Providing trainings on domestic violence and refugee and immigrant issues for court interpreters and personnel.

Anti-Trafficking Program:
Providing outreach, education and direct services for victims of human trafficking.

Tapestri Men’s Program:
Providing an ongoing 24-week Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) designed for refugee and immigrant men and collaboration with our victim’s liaison, who provides support services for victims who have their current/ex partner in Tapestri’s (FVIP)/ Men’s. In addition, we work with community men in our Engaging Men program to help in a preventative movement, where men work with other men and youths stop violence against women and Girls.
