Career Collaborative is a private, non-profit organization that partners with employers to help low-income, unemployed and under-employed workers get and keep jobs. Its Job-Search Course helps participants get full-time permanent jobs with benefits and to understand the employer’s point of view once employed. Career Collaborative provides two years of ongoing support to help clients be successful over time. More than 70 percent of Career Collaborative clients remain employed for a minimum of this two-year period. These services are offered at no cost to either participants or employers.
Career Collaborative’s primary clients are low-income, motivated men and women who have undergone chronic unemployment. Most of them are single parents, and over 70% of them are women. Career Collaborative’s mentees have earned $7.25 million collectively during their mentoring period, and the majority of them go on to continued employment.
